Tips for toddler travel?

So we have a flight to catch this weekend, and another one in a few more weeks, and it will be the first time we have flown with Skyler past the age of one. It will also be the longest flight we have taken him on thus far, the others being quick one hour jaunts and this one being a four hour marathon by comparison. I have a little backpack full of new goodies, munchies for the monkey, and plan on bringing a travel dvd player all in the hopes that our toddler will not be a terror. People can't give a pregnant lady too dirty of a look, right? Does anyone have some advice regarding how best to survive travel with an almost two year old, some sage bits of wisdom I might be missing in my preparations?

Anything goes. K was great on the flight to Mexico but a terror on the flight home.
Snacks, snacks, snacks.
Movies of his faves.
Books werne't that popular-too much to see and do. Be prepared to walk around a lot (if possible).
Coloring helped! (she did that a lot on the way home)
Maybe stickers - save some toys for the trip and have "new stuff" to introduce to him- stickers, new coloring stuff, maybe a few finger puppets or something.
New cars for the trip. Small stuff.
Oh and a magna doodle worked for a little bit.
Otherwise, good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and make sure you have tylenol/meds in case he get sick! :)

Soupy's on it!!! I'd bring about 42 packages of fruit snacks and make a checklist of her suggestions!

Our flights are usually about 1 1/2 hours. Not nearly as long as yours, but a HUGE stash of Cheerios works wonders with Little Elvis. I'll also sometimes buy the snack box (we always end up with coupons because of a bumped flight.) He likes the new types of food offered, and I usually like the stuff he doesn't. I'm very lucky that in the past Little Elvis has zonked out for at least an hour of our long flight. We usually have to catch a 25 minute puddle jumper, and he's awake for that, but he absolutely LOVES looking at the clouds.

I've never flown with Isabella, so I will instead just wish you GOOD LUCK!
